What the Lord has led me to

The phrase my dad is cool started as a joke I pulled on my daughter. She had left her email account open so I added "my dad is cool" as her signature. Years later she still has that email signature.

In the bigger picture its true that my dad is cool. He has provided for me and my family in times of good and bad. He protected my family in times of great turmoil. And He has led me down a path toward full-time ministry.

After eight years as the youth counselor at our congregation I needed a new challenge and a little bit of a rest. A year or two later several men in our congregation were introduced to a program that allowed us to take the first 10 seminary courses via online seminars. This program leads into another where the remaining 20 seminary courses can be completed for ordination. Along the way a few of us became licensed deacons providing us an opportunity to be worship leaders. Over a year long pastoral vacancy in our congregation, Christ Memorial, Malvern PA, Bill Hecht and I had the pleasure of serving as worship leaders.

More recently I was honored to serve Calvary Lutheran Church, Havertown PA for seven months in the role of interim pastor.

What next

In 2005 we looked at starting a new mission church centered around the Downingtown-Thorndale area.
Our pastor was called to another congregation so our plans were put on hold.
As I served Calvary I felt a call to resume the mission work started in 2005.
With the Lord's blessing that good work has come to pass. Living Waters Lutheran Church has become a reality.
